1.) Guard your self from sun

One of the most important methods to take care of your skin is to guard it from the direct sunrays. The ultraviolet rays, invisible but intense from the sun damages/hurts the skin, causing dry, rough skin, liver spots, deep wrinkles and various serious disorders like benign, malignant (skin tumor). Avoid going in the sun at the high intensity hours:
The rays of the sun are most damaging during 10am to 4 pm, thus, avoid going out in the sun during these hours.

Put on protective clothing

Wear clothes such as long pants, long sleeved shirts, hats, and caps, which can properly cover your skin. In addition, also take care to that some fabrics and clothing styles provides much protection from the sun in comparison to others.

Use sunscreen

Select a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) higher than 15. It is feasible to apply the lotion 20 minutes before going out in the sun and also if possible reapply it after every two hours after, after being in the water or intense sweating.

2.) Cleanse your skin

Cleansing is a very essential part of caring for skin and the key is to treat it gently.

Limit bath time and use warm water

Long showers and hot water removes the essential oils from the skin, limit your bath and shower to just about fifteen minutes or less, and try to use warm water than the hot water.

Avoid the strong soaps

Strong soaps generally strip of the essential oil from the skin and can make your skin dry. Indeed, select mild soaps with extra fats and oils.

Avoid the irritating additives

If your skin is sensitive, avoid skin products, which contain dyes or perfumes. These further can bother your skin and might trigger allergic response.

Pat dry

After bathing or washing, softly blot or pat your skin parched with a cloth so that a little bit of moisture remains on your skin. Instantaneously moisturize your skin with cream or oil.

3.) Moisturize regularly

Moisturizer greatly assists in maintaining your skin's natural moisture. The moisturizer works by giving a seal to your skin. Nevertheless, the moisturizer you use also depends on different factors such as your type of skin, age and if you have any conditions such as bad skin or acne. The best way to examine if you require a moisturizer is to hold 20 minutes after bathing. In case, your skin feels stretchy you must apply a moisturizer.
