The Honda CR-V is getting a makeover this year.
The all-new redesigned 2012 Honda CR-V is going to be hitting production at the automotive giant’s assembly plant in Alliston, Ontario. The Alliston plant will exclusively produce all of the CR-Vs slated for Canadian markets.
Sterling Honda specializes in new and used Honda cars, parts and accessories in Hamilton, Ontario. As the only 15 time winner of Honda’s “Total Quality Dealer Award” in Canada, we’re proud to be offering this brand-new vehicle to our customers in the Southern Ontario area, including Burlington, Oakville, Ancaster, Brantford and Stoney Creek. Canadian consumers have heard of the Honda Civic dominating the compact car segment, but with the release of the 2012 Honda CR-V, we’re setting our sights on explosively popular compact SUV market. From the experts at Sterling Honda, here’s a run-down on what you can expect to find in the new CR-V.
Complete Exterior Redesign
The new CR-V has completely new sheet metal – the exterior has been redesigned from bumper to bumper to create a sleeker, contemporary look. A new grille and headlight housings improve the dynamic looks of the CR-V’s front-end, while the stylish lines and reimagined rear design make this a crossover people will love to watch pull away.
Functionality and Features – Honda Innovation
The new CR-V will have more cargo space than its predecessor and drivers will only need one hand to use the Easy Fold-Down 60/40 Split Rear Seat and take advantage of the extended trunk capacity. The new model will also come standard equipped with a Bluetooth HandsFreeLink phone interface system, a full-colour intelligent Multi-Information Display and a rearview camera with a top view, 130-degree view or 180-degree view. An all-new feature will be the SMS text messaging function, which reads texts from compatible cellphones over the audio system and allows the driver to respond from a selection of preset messages without shifting his/her attention from the road.
Efficient Performance
The 2012 Honda CR-V is equipped with a 2.4L i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine capable of 185hp and 163lb-ft of torque. The tried and true Honda 5-speed automatic transmission is standard in the CR-V and drivers will have the option between a 2-wheel configuration and the new Real Time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Intelligent Control. The new CR-V will also have best-in-class estimated fuel economy, with city/highway ratings at 9.0/6.4L/100km in the 2-wheel drive model and 9.2/6.6L/100km in the AWD configuration. To further help drivers stay efficient, the CR-V will feature Honda’s Eco Assistwhich lets the driver know when the vehicle is being operated at its most efficient level. There is also a selectable ECON Mode that gears the vehicle towards a more efficient driving style, further improving fuel economy.
Sterling Honda is excited to be bringing this redesigned vehicle to our customers in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Ancaster, Brantford and Stoney Creek in 2012. We will be carrying all trim levels of the 2012 Honda CR-V: the LX, EX, EX-L and Touring.
