Truckers enable the movement of large quantities of raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished goods over land usually to end users or middle agencies. It is a backbone for every economy and it has been playing a major role since its inception time immemorial. Dealers and manufacturers turns on trucking industries to make them cost savvy and for maximizing productivity and profitability in every area of business.

In USA truckers have undergone different phases which were lovely and quite ironic at times. Back 1970 they were the inspiration for masculine characters in movies and were characterized as modern day cowboys. They were the shadows of a strong and powerful man. White Line Fever and Smokey and the bandits are such movies which reflect the masculine trucker at their best. USA extensively uses the benefits of trucking as it requires the transportation of goods and services to desired location without any collapse in time. Responsibility of trucker is involved in construction, manufacturing, agro and mining industry. Truckers are responsible for the majority of freight movement across USA and proved to be a vital instrument in manufacturing, logistics and warehousing industries. With ever increasing technologies in trucking, truckers are now acquainted with satellite communication and internet. It increases the productivity of company involved in trucking and also saves time and effort of a driver.

There is a saying, “If you bought it, a truck brought it”. Retail stores, gas stations, water supplies, dairy, garbage disposables and even banks entirely count on trucking to mobilize there cargo. Trucks are critically significant to U.S. industry, though calculating the impact of trucking will be little difficult as it is employed in all the sectors of the economy in small or large scale but trucking industry contributes 5% of the gross domestic product annually.

Companies involve varied models of trucks to cater the needs of the mass. They usually hold fleets of trucks for the smooth sailing of business and to be specific with the needs. Trucking companies helps to delivers 80% of the fuel, medicine, cloths and other consumer durable across U.S. it also employs nearly 10 million people of the country to jobs directly related to trucking. This statistics really gives a clear picture of trucking and its immense responsibility towards common beings.

Future of trucking industry is very bright and has huge prospect. Trucking driving job could be good option as most of the current drivers are aging and they are few steps closer to retirement. This creates a massive demand for truckers. It does not require too many skills to get involved in the profession. What you need is the Commercial driving license (CDL) to make you eligible for the post and good riding skills. To get into this you need a better decision making as it requires much of physical responsibilities.

Trucking industry employs millions of people and pays lucrative remuneration depending upon the services provided and the experience of driving. An experienced trucker fetches up to $75,000 per annum and for newbie’s it could be somewhere around $30,000 per year. Well I cannot compare the responsibilities of a trucker with that of a Marine but no doubt they have something in common and it is the zeal to deliver the services with acute pleasure and courage. Marines are brave enough to sacrifice their life for the country and don’t you think truckers are equally important as they also keep aside their family life and happiness to render services and to deliver logistics promptly at time. It is trucker’s responsibility to feed everyone with their need and desires.
