Gaming is a fast- growing pastime amongst many people today. People enjoy gaming, and are also very good at playing them. This can be put to great use, by writing game blogs.

People who seek advice about the game, whether or not they should purchase it, how interesting it would be, how it has been rated etc. do turn to these blogs for advice. An avid gamer would make an excellent game blogger, because they will be well-versed in terms of games and everything related to them.

Tips on How to Write the Blog

1. Understand the Tools

The first part of writing a game blog is to try out the product itself. Make sure that you have the required gaming consoles to test out the game on. You cannot simply get an idea about the game based on its description at the back or television commercials. Giving the game to another person to play it won't work either. The blog is based on your views and honest opinions.

2. Details

• Include the specifications such as

• Platform used

• Genre (i.e.; action -adventure, role- playing, strategy etc.)

• The name of the game

• Name of the developers

3. Overview

Write a simple synopsis of the game, without giving away too many details that may spoil the experience of the game for the reader. You should let your audience know just about enough about the game without spoiling it for them.

4. The Review

• Mention the number of players that can use the game, that is, if the game is a single-player or a multi-player game.

• Do not forget to mention the age restrictions of the game.

• Rating the difficulty of the game because your audience will be looking for the level of effort required to finish the game.

• The time required to finish the game must be noted. Mention to your readers if you thought if the game was boring or kept you on your toes.

• Gameplay visuals, glitches, appearance and graphics must all be noted down. Talk about the colour, vividness, colour definition etc. and if it is high definition

• or 3D.

• Sound, sound effects, theme music and general audio must be reviewed as well.

• Note the game sequence. Describe it and evaluate it based on how engaging it is, whether it is clear cut, if it is boring or not etc.

• Talk about whether the game is controller-friendly.

• Your audience will also want to know if the game can be played online or offline. Separately speak about the online gameplay and the offline gameplay, emphasizing on each one's pros and cons.

• Evaluate the user's manual that comes along with the game and compare the usefulness against your own experience.

• Rate the game. If it is worth the buy or if it is not worth the money.

• Review as many games as you can. A game blogger should be well- versed in every genre of games, along with the different consoles. You can even draw comparisons between the gaming platforms and the games too.
